Frequently Asked Questions
What Cleaning Method Does Your Company Use?
We use the only method recommended and warranted by the major carpet mills and fiber producers, Hot Water Extraction, or Steam-Cleaning.
How long will it take to clean my carpet?
On average, it will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any necessary pre-treatments.
Will water harm my carpet?
Modern carpet technology is basically water resistant, and approximately 98% of the limited amount of water used in our cleaning process is removed by our powerful industrial-strength vacuum. Our vacuum is about 30-45 times more powerful than an average household vacuum cleaner. The short answer is no.
How long do I have to wait after cleaning to use the carpet?
The carpet may be walked on with booties we supply, clean feet, or clean shoes immediately after cleaning; however, we recommend limiting activity on the carpet until it is completely dry.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Drying time depends on humidity levels, air flow to the rooms cleaned and the type of carpet. In general, turning on your air conditioning or heating system will help speed the process. While it typically takes between 4 and 6 hours for the carpet to dry, conservatively it could take up to 24 hours, but you can walk on it as soon as we are finished, (just remember your booties to avoid re-soiling and use caution walking onto hard surface flooring to avoid slipping and falling).
I’ve heard that cleaning my carpet makes it soil faster. Is this true?
The modern cleaning methods Campbell’s Carpet Care use rinse virtually all cleaning products out of the carpet so it will not attract dirt. This problem results from soap or oily powder particles being left in the carpet, which attract dirt. Companies that use soap or oily chemicals to clean your carpet and companies which employ dry-cleaning methods are the most likely to cause this problem.
Will the cleaning products used harm my children or pets?
Our basic cleaning solution is both family and environmentally friendly. It is safer than laundry detergent.
Do I need to move my furniture before Campbell’s Carpet Care arrives?
We will move most furniture that can be safely. However, there are several items we will not move, such as: pianos, electronics, china cabinets, waterbeds, large beds, dressers with mirrors, pool tables, etc. We do suggest you remove all small items off of your carpet and the furniture we will be moving, like lamps, plants, and ornaments. Please refer to Preparation for Cleaning Day.
Does Carpet Protector Really Work?
DUPONT ™ Carpet Protector, the two main protectors, work so well that ALL carpets are treated at the factory. It serves four functions,
- Prevents soil from sticking to the fibers,
- Prevents excess wear,
- Repels oil and water spills, and
- Easier to clean.
Like all protectors, eg. Car polish, it wears off with the use and needs to be reapplied, but properly. Some cleaners will water it down and misapply it. Making sure you have an ethical company will ensure you get a proper cleaning AND a proper application of protector. Your carpet will be cleaner, last longer, and your home will be healthier!
Please refer to DUPONT WARRANTY.
What should I do if the stains that were cleaned reappear?
Although most stains that are removed from carpet do not reappear, deep stains in carpet backing may wick to the surface after cleaning. If this happens before we have made our follow-up call to you, please contact us as soon as possible. We will be able to resolve this problem.
How do you guarantee customer satisfaction?
We are happy to work with you to correct any situation that may arise. In some cases this can mean spot cleaning specific areas of concern or even completely re-cleaning the areas in question. In the end, we’re not satisfied until you are. Please refer to our 100% GUARANTEE.
